Membership Information
There are four (4) classes of Membership: Active, Lifetime, Associate, and Honorary.
ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP
All retired Austin Police officers who are members of the Austin Police Retirement System are eligible for membership in the Association, subject to the provisions of this Constitution. No person shall be denied membership on account of race, religion, color, creed, sex, age or national origin.
- Only active members, as herein defined shall have a vote.
- Those convicted of a felony will not be eligible for membership.
LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP

LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP is an option for a one-time payment of dues that provides membership for the remainder of your life. This option may be exercised by the member AT ANY TIME.
Lifetime dues are based on your age at the time you submit your application and dues payment. Effective November 2009, the dues for Lifetime Membership are as shown below:

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Associate Membership: Shall be comprised of former or current employees of law enforcement related agencies or a family member of a former or current employee of law enforcement related agencies who are not eligible for membership in the Association as an Active Member. No person shall be denied membership on account of race, religion, color, creed, sex, age or national origin.
Associate Members must be nominated by an Active Member in Good Standing and voted in by the Membership in accordance with rules established by the Board of Directors.
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
This category of membership is comprised of individuals recognized by the Association for exceptional service or contribution to the Association, political subdivision or the law enforcement community.
Honorary members do not have a vote in the Association and they pay no dues. Any current Active Member can nominate deserving individuals for Honorary Membership.
