NEW APD Badge
is now available for
purchase
by retired officers
Effective July of 2009, retired officers are authorized to purchase a retired offiicers flat badge in the NEW APD badge design. The badge must be purchased through the authorized vendor and paid for by the retired officer. There are two forms that must be filled out and submitted to the department for authorization. Once the forms are completed and returned to you, you must act QUICKLY to order your badge as the authorization is only good from 30 days from the date the approval was granted.
When badges arrive, they must be picked up personally by the retired office who ordered the badge. However, If you do NOT live in the Austin area, or don't want to drive in to get ithe badge, the APROA has worked out a procedure by which an APROA Board Member will pick up your badge and mail it to you. There is a form to fill out which authorizes an APROA Board Member to pick up your badge.
